Buildings needed caretakers and builders. Buildings needed masons, woodworkers, glassworkers and blacksmiths. Humidity required permanent tending of the structures and people worked, day and night, to allow themselves and others the opportunity to live together in a place unfit for life, which became the birthplace of life itself. For the entity that was generated by the proximity of such multitudes far exceeded the quality each individual possessed. It was emulation, it was competition, it was mistake, it was doodling and losing time, it was playing games until invention was born and citizens were the mean by which invention evolved. Some called invention life, others life invention.
