Pumps and filters brought in clean water from the lagoon and the level of the water decreased. After three months Julia depicted the lines on the stone walls where the water level was on high tide and where it was then and the space between those levels could fit a tall man. All around the city colors changed, became gray and less vivid to memory. Julia drew with difficulty and she did not stay outside for long.
