On the top of the tower it was windy and very cold. Gaia and Julia wore crimson mantels that the guardian of the tower gave them before escorting them, through a winding staircase, to the open platform. From there they could see far in all directions, islands, bridges, buildings and canals were waiting to be drawn. Julia opened her notebook, Gaia moved to the center of the platform, under the stone canopy. She sat and waited, moved her head a little, then moved it again. Then she heard the first voice.
