Julia walked around the Fiore Island alone, fast, her eyes all over the buildings. She drew nothing along the way, and after a couple of hours she returned to the Archilab. Only then, she sat down and started drawing. In a few hours she completed the map of the island. Each building stood in its place, with precisely the form it had. She ignored the old maps, for they confused her. She then marked every building, every calle, every campo. Aiming to finish the map by the next day, she left again for Calle Ole which, she realized, she had not observed in her route. She drew all the bridges that originated in the island in half, as if suspended into the void. Where each building would land, she wrote the word wolves. She wrote it even over the bridge she crossed daily to get to the lab, where she never saw a single wolf. She wrote wolves because she recently heard a story where these animals, who everyone knew lived in the woods, were instead in the city, just off the island on the map.
