Julia and Gaia went to the Museum of Possibilities to find the man who operated the flying machine. Gaia showed the drawing to Alice, the museum’s Curator of Mechanical Possibilities, with both hands.

We would like to know if you have seen a machine like this, said Gaia.

Whoever drew this has a very good imagination, my girl.

I have seen it, said Julia calmly.

Alice smiled and opened her arms. It’s neither here, nor out of here.

Alice gazed to the drawing again, rapidly.

Whatever that thing is, I can assure you it is not a flying machine.

Julia was about to say something, but Gaia interrupted her.

We’ll give a look around, thank you for your time.

They found most of the elements of the machine on display, in different exhibits. A threaded shaft, wings, in different shapes, some quite similar to those Julia saw, chains and chain wheels.

Finally, they sat for an hour at the Inventors’ Tavern, discussing what they saw in front of two glasses of apple juice. Gaia could not get her mind around the matter.

Still I do not understand how the fish could fly. And why you saw them together, fish and machine.

Julia could not answer, they pondered the drawing and the machines they saw at the museum until it was dark and they had to run home.

  1. What a beautiful and unique blog! Thank you for liking my post, especially because I might not have found yours! Really very lovely, the graphic designer in me that loves clean, black and white, and orange is very excited with this blog of yours, but I suppose I must go backwards to the beginning and catch up!
