Julia little understood of the words Frank said. She caressed the sounds the words made when Frank spoke, but he spoke too fast and not about things she could see or touch, but about invisible things she could hardly represent. She lingered in the sound of those words for weeks, for months, she heard Gaia repeating them until a canal was dug in her bleeding brain and the words “become your dream” meant kindness and friendship and drawing each day until her hand ached and she could sit no more. She would then draw standing, on the edge of the Bridge of Kisses, where a stone pillar was right where she needed to lay her notebook, a few minutes from Gaia’s and Kristen’s home.
