Kristen woke up and felt icy cold. Gaia was asleep next to her. It was dark outside and Julia’s bed was empty. Dressed in a heavy coat, a scarf and a woolen hat, she opened the door noiselessly. Two women were fast asleep on the floor in front of her door. She wore her snowboots and left the building, disappearing into the darkness.
